CURRENT NEWS Check in here for the current events, relocation news and announcements. Santa Clarita Little People NEW CLASSES During the week of August 3rd we will post 2009-2010 class rosters. The children will actually change cubbies and class areas the week of August 10th. All classes will be a balance of academic, social, developmental and age appropriate groups. We have a few openings in each class so please tell your friends and work acquaintances to give us a call! Remember you can receive a tuition credit for families who you refer to Little People. WATER PLAY The last day for Water Play will be Wednesday, August 5th. Although we know the children have enjoyed this experience, the time has come to move on. Please continue to put sunscreen on your child before they come to Little People each day. We will apply the sunscreen after nap for our all day children. AUGUST 6TH IS THE LAST DAY FOR CURRENT PRE-KINDERGARTENERS! WE WILL BE CLOSED F0R STAFF INSERVICE AUGUST 7th PARENT MEETING The first Parent Meeting of the school year is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd, at 6:30 pm. During this meeting we will explain upcoming events, discuss holiday schedules, and much, much more. Attendance by at least one parent is mandatory. If you would like to utilize after hour child care for this meeting, the fee is $10.00 per child and due, IN CASH, by Monday, SEPTEMBER 1st. Please put your payment in an envelope marked with your child(ren)’s name(s), on the office desk. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THE FEE IN YOUR WEEKLY TUITION PAYMENT OR PUT IT IN THE TUITION PAYMENT BOX. As we will take a limited number of children, availability is on “first-sign, first served” basis. Sign up sheets are in the classrooms. PAC MEETING The Parent Assistance Committee will meet WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th at 6:30 p.m. All interested parents are welcome to attend this meeting. This is your opportunity to share your ideas and assist the school with special events. We really need your help and input!!!. GRANDPARENTS DAY Friday, September 11th is Grandparents’ Day at Little People. All grandparents and children are welcome to attend the special activities including: morning assembly, snack, a tour of the school and, best of all, recess! When was the last time your parents went to RECESS?! The program will last from 8:45-10:00 am. (Tuesday/Thursday children are welcome to attend with their Grandparents. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate them for the entire day.) We look forward to meeting all the grandparents. HELP We are in need of two parents to supervise sleeping children during our Staff Meetings the first Wednesday of each month from 12:50 to 3:10 PM. Please contact me as soon as possible if you can help. Thanks!!! REMINDERS Tuition is due by the end of the FIRST day of the week your child attends. Parent Newsletters and Monthly Calendars are our way of keeping you informed of important dates, times and happenings at Little People. Please post them AND take the time to read them. You can also read the Newsletters on our website: sclittlepeople.org. This will make us all, Little and Big People, HAPPY. Tuesdays and Fridays are Little People tee shirt days. Little People tee shirts are available in the office. Children’s tee shirts are $13.00 and adults are $18.00. Please support this “Win Win” fundraising event by purchasing your tee shirt today! “GOT LEGS?” Your children do! Please let your child walk in and out each day. We will comfort, nurture and encourage the children to walk at all times. This also increases your child’s “growing up” attitude and sense of independence. FOURTH ANNUAL FAMILY POT LUCK AND FUNDRAISING DINNER Mark your calendar…this is your chance to get to know the staff and families of Little People AND enjoy an evening of prizes, good food and fun. This event is for the entire family. Our Dinner will be from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on Friday, November 6th. You will be receiving a phone call or email from the room parents regarding this upcoming Pot Luck Dinner in September. We will need everyone’s help in securing raffle and basket items for the Gift Baskets and Door Prizes that will be offered throughout the evening. If you own a business or can donate a service or items, please give me a call or put a note on my desk. Each classroom will sponsor a couple of baskets for the raffle. More information will follow. Donation letters and non profit status information can be obtained as needed. Now is the time to get started! With your help, we can accomplish great miracles before this Fundraiser. UPCOMING EVENTS
